In this course there will be a study of 7 works of literature to examine not only literal content, but the figurative meaning and literary devices used by poets and authors. This course is designed for students who enjoy reading. Teacher recommendation is required.
Students will learn how to write various five paragraph essays including narrative, persuasive, expository and descriptive. Students will learn how to support arguments coherently using text evidence in literary essays. Students will also analyze four literary works in terms of themes and symbols by annotating each novel.
