Students will begin the year learning the mechanics of handwriting. Initially students will form capital letters while learning each letter sound. After completing capital letters, students will begin forming lowercase letters while reviewing letter sounds. During the year, students will begin using the WriteShop curriculum with a focus on writing content. The students will learn basic sentence structure and punctuation, then move on to creating simple sentences.
