Through hands-on experiments, case studies, and interactive activities, students will explore the scientific methods used by forensic experts to analyze evidence and solve crimes occurring around us. Case studies will be used to teach the students new problem-solving skills.  The class will be primarily hands-on and experiment-driven.  Topics covered include fingerprint analysis, handwriting analysis, cyber crimes, DNA profiling, toxicology, and forensic anthropology. Students will also learn about the role of forensic scientists in the criminal justice system and how real-world investigations are conducted. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail are emphasized as students apply science to uncover the truth behind mock crime scenes.
