Students will learn to refine their artwork by learning specific techniques, proper terminology, and self critique. The focus will be on craftsmanship and stepping out of the comfort zone. Topics covered are graphite drawings, clay hand building, ancient art, and painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture and art history. Students are required to keep a sketchbook/journal and to complete a research paper on an artist of their choice. All students will have projects included in the Night of the Arts. Projects vary for Art I, II, and III each school year.

Spiral bound sketchbook
5 artist quality graphite pencils of different values (4B, 2H, 6B)
1 kneaded eraser
1 “magic-rub” eraser
1 roll or package of paper towels
1 box of markers
