Students will begin the year learning the mechanics of all manuscript letters. Initially students will form lowercase letters while learning each letter’s sound. After completing lowercase letters, students will begin forming uppercase letters while reviewing letter sounds. Students will also be introduced to foundational writing skills as they apply the writing process across various domains to include but not limited to: personal narratives, opinion and informational pieces, and friendly letters.  Grammar is naturally embedded in the writing process and is, therefore, another component of this course.
