Description

This class will offer specific strategies that will enable the student to read more rapidly and to comprehend the reading materials more efficiently. Deeper level comprehension skills will also be developed. Understanding the implied meaning, as well as, the implications that show in the text is another area of study. Students will explore different genres of literature including fiction, nonfiction and biography. Students will be encouraged to find enjoyment in their reading. Guided oral reading will be practiced to enhance reading performance. Opportunities will be given for students to complete fun projects related to the texts that they read. (This class is taught at a 3rd grade level.)
