In the course, students will explore the business side of fashion by covering these four important components, visual merchandising, trend forecasting, marketing and fashion design. Students will study major retail stores, why they are successful and what marketing tools they use to attract customers. Along with studying existing brands, they will create a fresh new store concept based on their designs and who their customer is. The principles of design will be emphasized in their window displays that will reflect visual appeal through color, lighting and graphics.
Supplies: sketchbook 50-75 pages, colored pencils, lime green tape, 3 rolls of clear scotch tape (not the big ones, but the ones you wrap presents with)
