This course introduces and teaches skills needed to help keep a student’s world functioning properly. Students will learn money management skills and topics such as budgeting, bill paying, reconciling checkbooks, understanding how to read a bank statement, savings and basic financial planning for the future. Students will fill out job application forms, write a resume, cover letter and go through a job interview. They will learn how to buy a car and rent an apartment. Social skills will be taught. Basic household chores, including laundry, will be covered in the class.
