Description
Students are introduced to the basics of theater. This includes theatre vocabulary, the parts of the stage, blocking, basic acting techniques and script evaluation. Students train in exercises to develop concentration, imagination and life observation. Improvisations will encourage physical freedom and a sense of truth. Using scenes and monologues, students will explore the rehearsal process from both the actor’s and director’s point of view. They will experience exercises and practices intended to increase their effectiveness. Students will receive coaching as actors both in the drama classroom and on the stage.
